KYOCERA Cloud Connect now with Google Drive. Providing businesses with even more flexibility

CloudCloud computing and cloud storage are becoming increasingly relevant in today’s business environment, as customers want to store and access data from anywhere at any time.  Here we talk with Kyocera’s Product Marketing Manager, George Kharoufeh, about how the cloud works and Kyocera’s new connection with Google Drive that makes accessing your data straightforward and reliable.

George can you tell us about “The Cloud” and KYOCERA Cloud Connect?

The Cloud comprises of any and all applications and services hosted and run on servers connected to the Internet  The Cloud allows users to access from any device at any time, providing that their files are saved ‘in the cloud’. KYOCERA Cloud Connect is the solution that bridges Kyocera’s multifunctional products to two of the top cloud service applications publicly available today.

So what’s the new and improved KYOCERA Cloud Connect?

Well, not only can our Cloud Connect enable scanning and printing of files in Evernote, but now also files in Google Drive, directly from most Kyocera multifunctional product control panels. The application enables scanning and printing of files in Google Drive and Evernote,  cloud service providers, directly from HyPAS enabled Kyocera multifunctional product control panels.

What functions does KYOCERA Cloud Connect allow users to perform now?

The KYOCERA Cloud Connect application now allows users to upload scanned files directly to Google Drive and Evernote from the touch screen control panel of a Kyocera multifunctional product without the need to scan to a PC, laptop or smart device. When a hardcopy of a document is needed users can retrieve and print files stored in Google Drive and Evernote directly from the Kyocera product in file formats including JPEG, PDF and TIFF.

It seems things are just being made easier and easier for us. Can you give us some examples of where KYOCERA Cloud Connect could be used?

KYOCERA Cloud Connect keeps customers connected wherever they are. This means that you can scan to your account and take the data with you and you can also print anywhere in the world on any Kyocera HyPAS enabled device. This application allows for easy sharing of data across multiple  offices globally. For example a large document can be scanned into the Cloud by a corporations  Sydney office. It can then be accessed by any office worldwide– wherever a customer chooses to share the corporate access to their Cloud Connect account.

Recent BLI awards cement Kyocera as the reliable choice in office printing

LTR SEALS 2008

We have recently been awarded the much coveted Pick of the Year and Highly Recommended awards for both our FS-4300DN and FS-C8650DN printers by Buyers Laboratory’s (BLI)

“We’ve come to expect outstanding reliability from Kyocera devices, and the FS-4300DN was no exception,” said Ian Latham, BLI’s European Lab Manager.

Throughout the industry, BLI is known for its rigorous two-month testing of office-equipment products, including an extensive durability test for imaging devices during which BLI runs each unit for extended periods at the manufacturer’s maximum duty cycle. Other performance attributes BLI evaluate include ease of use, media handling, productivity and value.

BLI bestowed its Pick of the Year award on our FS-4300DN printer as best of the best in the A4 Monochrome Printers for Large Workgroups category. The FS-4300DN also received BLI’s Highly Recommended rating.

BLI subjected the FS-4300DN to a gruelling two-month durability test, and the printer displayed Kyocera’s typical dependability, running smoothly without misfeed or service call. The drum and developer’s capability to last for an incredible 500,000 A4 pages impressed BLI as well. Another plus was the device’s productivity, in particular, its output of up to 60 ppm – highest in its class.

The FS-C8650DN also displayed superior image quality, and its long-life consumables cut waste, reduce environmental impact and lower the total cost of ownership.

Our product marketing manager George Kharoufeh is particularly proud of the awards, “To have been recognised again by BLI means our customers can feel confident in choosing Kyocera as their preferred document solutions vendor.

Congratulations to the winner of the Global Service Technician Awards – Kyocera Document Solutions Australia 2012.

We were delighted that eighty four technicians, from our channel partners, registered for the region’s first Global Service Technician Award competing for the title of Best Kyocera Technician. Entrants for the competition weren’t just from Australia; other countries included New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, New Caledonia and Vanuatu.

The finals consisted of a theory exam, covering Kyocera hardware and software solutions, as well as a practical test on a TASKalfa 8000i where the technicians were asked to solve three error messages. If the contestant was able to finish the practical test within the time limit, they could move on to a bonus test relating to Kyocera Net Viewer.

The lucky winner, Alexander Stramsek, was invited to join winners from the other regions for a week-long trip to Japan in recognition of their achievements. During the trip they will meet the management of Kyocera’s headquarters in Osaka, and tour the Kyocera headquarters’ facilities. Their full program will also give them the opportunity to absorb some of the local culture of Japan while they visit the sights the region is famous for. All finalists were awarded a certificate to recognise the high standard that they had achieved.

   Finalists:

1st Alexander Stramsek from Multifax DDS, Western Australia
2nd Gerald Sinclair from Corporate Express, Bundaberg Queensland

Can you reduce your paper mountain?

A case study of how fleet rationalisation and the right software solutions can deliver real savings.

TNT Express, one of the world’s leading business-to-business express delivery service providers, has not only reduced their paper mountain significantly in recent years but saved thousands of dollars in costs by deploying the right technology and changing the way they do things. It was a brave step to move from individual devices on each desk, to shared devices for each work group, but one that has certainly paid off for TNT.

As Stephen Price, National Purchasing Manager, TNT Express notes

The Kyocera MPS solution has delivered us running cost savings of around thirty eight per cent.

A large proportion of these savings have been achieved through the secure release software – it has reduced wasted copies as people can delete the document before it prints and the need to reprint a document because they can’t find it has been eliminated. We’re using more advanced technology and we’re using it smarter.”
