The truth about Toner: Genuine Versus Third Party Compatible

If you’re looking to save money by buying third party compatible toners for your Kyocera device, think again. Rigorous research has found that Kyocera genuine toners are not only more efficient,  reliable and safer for your machine; they create up to 73% less waste and have less downtime which leads to greater ongoing savings. Kyocera contracted the independent testing association,  TŰV Rheinland ® to undertake comprehensive testing on the differences in image quality and efficiency of genuine toner in comparison to three third party compatible toners.

The following video gives a great overview of the results from the research, and for a summary check out this great info graphic developed by KYOCERA document solutions UK.

Kyocera Wins Triple Crown for Exceptional Performers

Here at Kyocera we have been selected by BLI for “Outstanding A3 colour MFD”, in categories 41-50, 61-70 and 71-80 pages per minute, at the BLI semi annual ‘Pick Awards’, and we are really thrilled! Buyers Laboratory (BLI), the world’s leading independent evaluator of document imaging products and solutions, conducted comprehensive evaluations assessing a wide range of the most important features and performance factors that are typically demanded by end users.

“We’re delighted that we have now been recognised in all mid to high speed colour categories by BLI, taking into account the awards they gave us in July 2011 for our TASKalfa 5550ci. What this means for our customers is they can feel confident in selecting a Kyocera TASKalfa product as these awards assure them that the outstanding performance and sharp and consistent colour quality they need has been independently verified under the most demanding conditions,” says George Kharoufeh, senior product manager, Kyocera Mita Australia and New Zealand.

All of the Kyocera TASKalfa devices offer very good ease of use from the print drivers and a well-designed colour control panel that can be moved up and down and side to side, providing easy access for individuals with disabilities. Kyocera also earned high marks for most attributes important to IT, including ease of network setup and administrative utilities. In addition, overall image quality of the devices ranged from very good to excellent.

In fact, the TASKalfa 7550ci is among an extremely small minority of business colour models to have earned an excellent rating for both colour and black output quality.

The scan functionality of the devices, which includes six shortcuts and convenient USB access, was also above average.

“Offering outstanding reliability, exceptional ease of use and strong overall productivity, there is no doubt that this trio of devices is worthy of these hard-earned awards,” said Pete Emory, BLI’s manager of laboratory testing. “Noteworthy is that the TASKalfa 7550ci is the most productive model in its class tested to date, with best in class productivity when printing BLI’s job stream and a range of other speed tests.”

As Kharoufeh adds, “Most of all, these products adhere to our core design concept to offer devices with top reliability and low total cost of ownership that are easy on the environment.”

Pantone the perfect ‘Fiery’ Christmas gift

We think these Pantone colour accessories could be the perfect Christmas gifts, forgive us, but at Kyocera we do get a bit excited about colour!

The PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM has long been a reliable way for communicating colour. For over a decade Pantone LLC, the global authority on colour and provider of professional colour standards for the design industries has even chosen a colour of the year. The colour for 2011/12 being PANTONE® 18-2120 Honeysuckle – check this vibrant colour out for yourself at www.adesignerspot.com

Pantone’s Colour of the Year declarations have influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries including fashion, home and industrial design.

Kyocera recently launched their Fiery ColorWise® technology allowing customers to maintain their corporate brand identities with PANTONE® and custom spot colour printing.

Fiery ColorWise® technology delivers outstanding colour and image quality, can be easily deployed in Windows® and Macintosh® (Mac®) environments and supports all industry- standard networking protocols.

The Fiery unit is available on Kyocera’s TASKalfa colour range of multifunctional devices. TASKalfa has numerous advanced finishing options such as stapling, folding, booklet making, tri-folding and more. As anyone who has tried to make a booklet or piece of promotional collateral knows, it can be challenging to replicate the on-screen effect with the final printed piece. With the addition of Fiery and the free software tool, Fiery VUE, a “visual print application” allows the production of documents on-screen in 3D to sculpt and preview exactly how the finished document looks.

These features help create better looking documents, reduce waste and lower overall costs. Now that’s almost better than colourful Christmas gifts – almost!
